Carol Ann Edwards' - Woodinville Community Scholarship
Awarding for 2010: One (1) Scholarship of $2,500
The Carol
Ann Edwards' Woodinville Community Scholarship is sponsored
by Prevail Credit Union. The scholarship was created to recognize
Carol Ann Edwards, a longtime resident and cornerstone in the
Woodinville community. Carol was the founder and publisher for
the community newspaper, The Woodinville Weekly, from 1976 until
her passing in 2007. One person/student will be awarded the
Carol Ann Edwards' Woodinville Community Scholarship each year
who embodies the spirit and dedication to the community of Woodinville,
which Carol Edwards exemplified for many years. Please follow
the directions below in their entirety to ensure your application
receives full consideration.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to apply for a Prevail Credit Union Scholarship,
the following criteria must be met:
- Must be a resident of (from or within) Woodinville
- Current Prevail Credit Union member *
- A graduating high school senior (in 2010) or current college
student.
- Applicant must have a GPA of 3.25 or greater.
- Applicant must provide verification of acceptance or enrollment
to a college or university.
- Applicant was not a recipient of a 2009 Prevail CU Scholarship
award; Prevail CU will not award a scholarship in consecutive
years to the same applicant.
Prevail Credit Union staff, the Board of
Directors and Supervisory Committee members, and their families
are not eligible to apply. After selection of a scholarship
recipient, the judge's decision is final. Scholarship awarded
based on the information obtained solely from this application
and those specific materials requested. The scholarship
is not based on the applicant's financial situation.
Application Requirements:

Official copy of transcripts provided for review
- Two (2) letters of reference/recommendation:
- One (1) from a high school or college instructor or
community leader/businessperson;
- The other letter (1) from someone not related to the
applicant (may be personal or professional)
- Typed essay (450 words or less) describing all, the applicant's:
- Educational goals
- Personal goals & expectations.
- Woodinville community involvement
Application Procedure & Deadline:
Applications, transcripts, etc. must be postmarked
no later
than Friday, April 9, 2010. Applications received late,
incomplete or not in accordance with the guidelines will be
ineligible. All scholarship applicant's will be notified by
or before June 18, 2010.

Disbursement of Scholarship Funds:
Funds will be deposited directly into the student/member's King
County Credit Union savings account no later than July 16, 2010.
*Must be a Prevail Credit Union member (individual member account).
